Dr. Keli Christopher is a product of Grand Rapids Public Schools. She attended North Carolina A&T State University, a historically black university, where she received her B.S. in Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. When Dr. Christopher received her Ph.D. in 2005, she became the third black woman in the world to get a Ph.D. in that field of study. She has also served as the National President for Alpha Epsilon Honor Society, the Honor Society for Agricultural Engineers.
